 DIDERIK BUXTEHUDE

 (c.1637-1707)

 Danish organist and composer, from 1668 organist at Lübeck, Germany,
 and therefore better know by the German form of his name as Dietrich Buxtehude.

 Wrote organ and harpsichord pieces, also church cantatas, etc.

Much esteemed in his own day; visited by Johann Sebastian Bach
and Händel as young men, influencing them both.
