  (1786-1826)

  German composer, pupil of M. Haydn
  and Vogler; also conductor and pianist.

   Exponent of German romantic opera,
   particularly in DER FREISCHÜTZ, a
   lasting international success.

   Other operas include:
   ABU HASSAN,EURYANTHE AND OBERON,
   the last written in English for England.

   Weber died in London after superintending
   the first production.






He had poor health, and was financially driven to overwork.  Also wrote incidental music to plays, including PRECIOSA and TURANDOT; two concertos and concert piece for piano and orchestra.
Two concertos and on concertina for clarinet and orchestra; INVITATION TO THE DANCE, and other
piano solos , church music, songs, etc....

Also writer on music, wrote an unfinished novel A COMPOSER'S LIFE, criticism, poems.
